To keep our visitors, volunteers and staff safe from the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we have been instructed by the City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation and Parks facilities to close The Banning Museum until further notice. The Park outside of the Banning Museum is open and accessible. Recognizing that this is a rapidly evolving situation, please check back for updates. Jessica Salazar is a relatively new volunteer. According to Jessica: “I’ve only been volunteering for a few months. I decided to volunteer at the Banning Residence because I love this house and everything that it represents. CONGRATULATIONS to our 2020 Wisteria Scholarship winners! Although we were not able to celebrate each of these remarkable students in person at the Wisteria Regale, we are extremely proud to announce them here in this video. Thank you to all of you who support Friends of Banning Museum. It is because of you that we are able to provide much needed financial assistance to these students as they pursue their dreams. Laura Mohberg has been volunteering at the Banning Museum for seven years. Here’s how she ended up as a volunteer. “Several years ago there was a U.S. Presidents storytime at the Wilmington Library, which is within walking distance to the mansion. We then walked to the Museum to have a Victorian Treat of scones/cream and strawberries.
